BARLET white silicone facade paint for coating lime-cement plasters, concrete, aerated concrete, wood, fiberboard and chipboard, etc. substrates in interiors and exteriors. The substrate must be firm, dry, mature and free from biological attack (mold, algae). New plasters must min. 4 weeks to mature (carbonate).

Silicone facade paint is easy to process, harmless to health and environmentally friendly.

Properties of BARLET silicone facade paint:

  • silicone facade paint
  • for painting new and old facades
  • renovation of insulation systems
  • highly vapor permeable
  • increased mechanical and chemical resistance
  • resistant to weather conditions
  • easily processed
  • harmless to health
  • environmentally friendly facade paint

Technical properties of silicone facade paint:

  • coverage depending on the absorbency of the substrate 4 to 5 m²/1 kg
  • water-soluble facade paint
  • for plaster substrates, screeds of insulation systems, concrete, etc
  • environment interior or exterior
  • shade white
  • for coloring in TELURMIX and BALMIX systems
  • application by brush, roller or spraying

Method of applying facade paint:

Brush, roller, AIRLESS spraying, e.g. STORCH AIRLESS ST 550, STORCH AIRLESS ST 700 or STORCH AIRLESS ST 800, recommended pressure from 100 – 130 bar, nozzle size 517 or 519, gun filter 50 mesh. When applying by spraying, we recommend always carrying out tests on a specific device in advance.

An example of acrylic facade paint

The substrate must be dry and mature. Treat excessively absorbent, dusty or incoherent substrates with a suitable acrylic penetration REMAL, BARLET or SOICRAT. Dilute the paint with a maximum of 5 - 10% water and mix thoroughly. After the penetration has dried, apply the paint in two layers with a brush or roller. The paint can also be applied by pressure spraying. Apply the next layers only after they have completely dried. The optimal temperature for painting is 15 to 25 °C. Use the product from one batch on entire surfaces, mix different batches together before use.

Preparation of substrate:

General conditions that must be observed before painting with facade paint:

  • plaster repairs in an outdoor environment are not suitable,
  • old non-cohesive coatings must be removed with a wire brush, scraper or pressurized water,
  • older substrates must be evaluated, unsatisfactory ones must be removed and repaired with new lime-cement plaster,
  • new lime-cement plasters must be left to mature for at least one month,
  • the coating with facade paint is a thin layer - it copies the substrate, we therefore recommend brushing or scraping off grains of sand from the surface after the new plaster has dried, this prevents the appearance of shadows on the painted unevenly smoothed plaster,
  • the temperature of the substrate and the working environment is recommended in the range of +15°C to +25°C. It must not be lower than + 7 o C and must not exceed +30 ° C.
  • coating cannot be carried out in rain, strong wind and strong sunlight,
  • windows, metal parts and gutters must be covered, dried paint residues are difficult to remove,
  • the substrates must be dry and mature before starting the coating, we recommend checking the humidity of the plaster with a suitable hygrometer before starting the coating.
  • for the coating of larger units, we recommend using products from the same batch, or mixing individual batches with each other, this applies in particular to color shades.
  • some deep shades have reduced coverage. We recommend applying a more opaque base. It generally refers to yellow, orange and red shades prepared mainly from organic pigments.
  • the combination of different application techniques (roller + brush) must be tested in advance, especially for saturated shades - the risk of different colors due to the different surface of the paint.

Handling of BARLET facade paint:
